Iceland's Reykjanes peninsula erupts again

It's been quiet for a while - about 800 years? - but if you live on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge plate boundary you have to expect a bit of activity  :(

Oh I'd love to be there - one of the newest places on earth, MidAtlantic Ridge. Sea floor spreading at the plate boundary, massive volcanic activity above the hot spot. Ah! Massive earth convection of the plates right down to a local area. Alfred Wegener.
