EcoWitt HP2553 - Wont connect to wifi
« on: April 23, 2023, 09:24:36 PM »
Hi

My dad bought this unit, and it wont connect to wifi.

The connection to 2.4ghz wifi network just stays at "connecting...". The signal strength shows full bars

I tried a second wifi access point and to connect to that at the 2.4ghz network it broadcast, same result.

Both wifi access point also transmit a 5ghz network which i have ignored.

I tried changing the channel width on the access point down to 20mhz, and tried setting it to bg, then bgn.

Also, weather underground - what model should you select (assuming I can get this to connect to the internet)?

Any thoughts?

Thank you for any advice

we have a sticky link regarding this topic on the main forum page

did you read it through and tried all options ?
Try to connect as described via the WS View Plus app having your mobile network switched off in the mobile phone (airplane mode, WiFi only).

If your console has already the EasyWeatherPro WiFi software, you should also be able to connect via its Web interface from your computer.

Your WiFi AP may not have a DHCP server of its own (or not activated), but the router for your local network will have one - and this will need to be activated (and the DHCP address range will have to have at least one more free address left). Otherwise the console(s) can't receive a valid IP address and won't be able to connect.
