Topic: WS80 offline after firmware update 1.2.4

First firmware update for me , anyway all went well but I had trouble getting the station back online to the HP2551 console .
After the update the blue LED was flashing at a fast rate and wouldn’t go back online . I tried to re-register the station but no luck .I waited for the super cap to run out and removed batteries and re- installed etc and finally got the bugger online 
Is there a graceful way to do the update with a HP2551 console ?

With this approach, I have successfully updated the WS90 several times.
The procedure should be transferable 1:1 to the WS80:

mini howto updating the WS90 sensor
1. plug in USB cable
2. reset WS90 device (left button on WS90)
3. start DfuSeDemo.exe
4. choose upload file (middle button in the lower area)
5. mark "Verify after download"
6. start Upgrade (button)
7. leave DFU mode (button)
8. unplug USB cable
9. reset WS90 device (left button on WS90)

Especially point 7 and point 9 are often forgotten and therefore lead to problems.
But I don't have a WS80 here and on the HP2551C I have the WS90 disabled. So it might look different there.

In the instructions it tells you to reset the station after you connect the cable - that doesn’t seem to do anything as you already connected (check under devices usb )
The only thing I didn’t do was reset the station when finished

That could very well be the problem. Always reset the unit after an upgrade, and check if the led flashes every 8 seconds or so.

I've done this multiple times ( even rollback the firmware 1.2.2 ) same result
Now I know to reset unit after the upgrade
the support instruction should be re-wriitten this would make it easier to follow
