WN32CP Temperature Humidity Pressure sensor
« on: January 27, 2023, 03:46:02 AM »
Just got WN32CP with my Pantech WS off eBay . Just wondered why the sensor is not listed on the Ecowitt site ?
HP2550 console 1.9.3 , WS80 1.2.4 , WH57 lightning sensor , WH40 rain gauge , WH51 soil moisture sensor , GW1100 gateway 2.3.0

Hi!

This is just another name for the WH32B aka WH32 indoor.
WN and WH are sometimes used synonymously.
C = 433MHz
P = pressure

Using gw1100 this device doesn’t appear on the device list . How do I select it ?

Hi!

Unless you cut the cable with the sensor from the GW1100, you will not be able to pair the WH32B with the GW1100.

To elaborate on what Oliver said...
The GW1100 already has an indoor Temp/Hum/Pres sensor on the attached cable, so it will not use any other duplicate sensor.
[unless you cut the cable, in with case the firmware starts looking for the external one -- assuming your GW1100 is also 433MHz]

I believe there are some threads on here on how to convert the WH32 to be an outdoor sensor (minus pressure), overriding your array if need be.

Interesting. So, may I assume the indoor wh32b will just appear in the sensor setting for the gw1100?
Does the same hold true for the gw1000 and gw2000?

Yes, the GW1000, GW1100, and GW2000 can be physically modified so they no longer use the wired sensors and can use a WH32 indoor (WH32B) sensor instead.  It might also work on the HP2560 console but to my knowledge, this has not been verified yet.

Here are two topics where this is discussed:

I guess it will according to latest firmware , but it doesn't have channel selection ( assume it will be channel 1 )

The WH32B will appear as the barometer/pressure and indoor temperature.  There are no channels on WH32, only on WH31 and various other types of sensors.

son of a gun.. I just snipped the wire.  Less than a minute it showed up and started working on my gw1100.

Sweet.   But to be safe I would make sure those wires don’t short together.  Either desolder them, or cut the internal wires at various lengths and tape.

I believe there are some threads on here on how to convert the WH32 to be an outdoor sensor (minus pressure), overriding your array if need be.
it's converting a WH31 into a WH32 outdoor (Ecowitt notation), works, has been shown with the old and the new PCB (printed circuit board  8-) - not the Chemical) - and vice versa.
Maybe also a WH32B (WH32 indoor, Ecowitt notation) into a WH32 outdoor - don't recall the latter.
