Unable to rename sensors with a "." ie PM2.5
« on: February 22, 2023, 03:36:21 AM »
I added a new PM2.5 sensor and wanted to change the name  - I tried on my phone using the app and online using ecowitt.net but in both cases am told various characters are not permitted including the full stop/point symbol . This means I cant even open the name and save it with the same name!  My sensors are therefore not able to be named in a uniform pattern as last November I was able to use a .   Does any one have the same problem? Or a solution?

HP2550_C with 1.8.7 firmware

Thank you

from your description I cannot clearly see where you want to change something
- at ecowitt.net
- in your HP2550 console ? and if so, where exactly ?
could you clarify, please.
Names in the HP2551 console can only be changed in the console itself - not via any app or via ecowitt.net
Names in the console have no impact on the naming at ecowitt.net

if you are talking about the ecowitt.net dashboard, there is indeed the described phenomenon.
Will report to Ecowitt and see what they have to say

Ecowitt have replied:

"Yes, this is a rule check violation due to the export data separation from the data base.
Our software team will update the rule when they have less job on hand, so I don’t know when this change will be done.
For time being, please stop using the special characters that the prompts displayed."

So it is on their change request list.  :-)
