WH51 Issues
« on: September 11, 2022, 01:07:03 PM »
I have been using WH51s for the last couple of years to keep track of my lawn and garden watering. Up until the last month or so they have been really nice. I am having some problems with 2 of them. One of them burns thru the Lithium battery in a day or 2. Reads fine, just uses up the battery until it dies. You put a brand new battery in and it reads 1.5v instead of the 1.8 that the others see and starts to drop immediately.

The other trouble is one started giving me false readings. I put it in a cup of water and it only reads 18%. You take it out and it does read zero, but never goes above the 18% submerged. This started happening right after I removed it while I mowed.

Any ideas?

Sadly, these sound like bad units, you will need to contact Ecowitt support directly via email, they will respond , usually in 24 hours support@ecowitt.com. Do not seek help through their forum.  There is really nothing you can do, to "fix" a bad unit.

A bunch of us have had issues with units, I replace 2-4 a year

I kind of figured that. I had good luck with them last year. Maybe they have some sort of lifespan. Watering season is almost down tho, so I'll get some for next year. What I save in water using these makes all the difference in the world.
