Misol HP2550 spare parts
« on: February 15, 2020, 04:09:33 PM »
Hello again.

As I put it recently I got a Misol HP2550. Everything is going very well but looking around, I can't find the possibility of buying spare parts if I have a problem.
I have seen that Ambient Weather does sell different spare parts, but they don't make international shipments and also use a different frequency. Do you know where I could get spare parts if they exist?

Thanks in advanced.

Ecowitt may not list parts on their website but you can contact them and let them know what you need.

You may also try contacting Misol and asking them too. Make sure you know what frequency your station uses.

Misol also doesn't show spare parts on its website. I asked them but they take a long time to respond due to Covid.

Regarding Ecowitt, I don't know if they have spare parts, since the Misol HP2550 is different from the Ecowitt HP2551 (although the firmware is the same). I will ask Lucy too.

The Ecowitt sensors and spare parts will be totally interchangeable with the Misol unit.
Since Ecowitt are the prime brand for Fine Offset you should be able to buy any spare from them that will work with your Misol unit.
It is only if you are using Ambient Weather clones that the interoperability of sensors due to firmware locks become a problem.

If you are swapping or buying additional sensors then you will need to be aware of the frequency to ensure that they continue to function.

If you are in Europe then you can go via Froggit in Germany as long as you are using 868Mhz assuming you need whole sensors etc

I think Misol exclusively uses 433 MHz and Froggit uses 868 MHz. Therefore you can't mix those brands.

The Misol HP2550 and the Ecowitt HP2551 may look different because one is the tri-wing design and the other is the bi-wing design, but they are technically interchangeable as a whole (as long as the frequency matches). As for parts, yes the wind direction is different but I think the other parts are probably interchangeable between tri-wing and bi-wing.

Regardless Ecowitt is somewhat of like a subsidiary company to Fine Offset and I think they will sell you anything in the Fine Offset catalog.

Another option is that you can also upgrade to the WS68 (or WS80) wind and WH40 rain and WH32 temp/hum if you are having sensor problems.

I can certainly confirm that Ecowitt will sell you and has spare parts for the Triwing all in one sensor since this is what I chose at the time I was putting together my replacement station.
This is despite the fact that Ecowitt have always only displayed the Bi Wing sensor as the option to purchase.
In short you'd be amazed at what you can get if you ask!

That sounds really good.
At the moment the weather station works very well, but the spring/summer storms in Spain can be quite strong and accompanied by hail and damage some of the sensors.

This is why I am very interested in the lightning sensor as soon as it is for sale.

Thanks for the answers.
