Hi Nasser,
what exactly do you mean by cleaning rainfall?

P.S. I now this is a typo, but I would probably change the "gays" to "guys" :-)

Hmm... sorry Im afraid I do not, slot of rain or region?

You mean like when you should "zero" your annual/seasonal rainfall?

What weather station do you have?

Do you want to clean the rain gauge from the dirt or archived data in a weather station?

Hi,
Im not sure I understand why it should be a problem doing it anytime as long as it is not raining - which would mean you might miss some rain, but otherwise I dont think there is anything preventing you from cleaning it :D

As Jachym wrote, rain can be cleaned at any time if you notice that they are contaminated.

Weather data will not be lost. There is no water in the middle of what you expect. There may be spiders and cobwebs. Therefore, insert a grid into the mast tube. If you do not do this, the spiders will migrate the tube directly into the WH24.  ;)

Assuming your weather station has a tipping bucket rain gauge, just make sure you unplug it otherwise you will record a lot of rain by just moving and rotating the gauge while manipulating with it. First unplug it, then carefully rinse it and take out any debris and then place it back to its original position and then plug it back in.

I think Nasser is asking how to clean the sensor of the all in one. (Ambient) Maybe someone with that model has tried to take it apart, but I believe that sensor is not designed to be opened up like the acurite... I don't even think it's recommended to clean it.

Instruction WS1001 recommends cleaning the exterior of the outdoor sensor - describes how to do it  ;)

I've cleaned my ws-1001 using the following procedure found in the manual.

http://site.ambientweatherstore.com/Manuals/ws1001wifi.pdf

There are two methods to clean, one using a cotton swab and the other to open the unit and properly clean out the debris.

When I opened my unit (be careful you don't break sensor wires) it had a lot of debris (bird poop) around the tipping mechanism.

Look at Page 54 and 55 for cleaning.

Nice illustration. I read somewhere a while back that someone tried to take the sensor apart for some reason, and the screws were so tight they couldn't do it. Hopefully that isn't common.

Yes, I just tried opening a new unit I have and it was very tight to first open, the key was finding the best Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the screws without stripping the head.

Here is the inside view.
