WS-2090 Console looses connection
« on: December 12, 2013, 07:00:14 PM »
I am trying to figure out how to diagnose a problem with my WS-2090. It has been installed and working fine since August, in the last week it has lost the connection and reports that the outside temp/humidity all remain the same, the barometric pressure/rain/wind measures continue to report as expected. The "connected icon" on the console is their for the clock, but not the weather sensor. I've tried resetting the console but so far no change. I've moved the console closer to the sensor, still no luck. I have not gone outside with the console yet and was wondering if that should be my next step. I should also mention that the console is hooked to a Raspberry Pi which is always on ( I did disconnect it when I reset the console) Any hints to help sort out the problem?  ](*,)

Try removing, wait a couple minutes, replacing batteries in the sensor array and after several minutes do the same for the console.(Console last) Might as well check and verify batteries are at least 1.5 volts while you have them removed.
Strange that you still get rain and wind readings without a connection icon.

Thanks for the hint... I tried your suggestion but still wasn't able to connect. The wireless connection would flicker and then drop. I tried it twice and didn't succeed. I contacted Ambient Weather and they felt it was a bad sensor array so they shipped me a new one, waiting for it to arrive...

What kind of battery are in the outside units. Cold weather and batteries that are weak is an poor mix. Also some alky batterys don't like cold weather. Do you have lithium in  the sensors.
