Which sensor do you mean? The remote thermo sensor?

I might have an older one, 19-90% range, is that what you have?

Are you sure the remote thermo is bad but the console is ok?

Did your old one have the full range of humidity (1 - 99%), or the 19-90% used by the older units?

During the production run, they changed the sensors. If you had full range, you will need to replace with full range.

I have a full station that I could part (cheap but not free) with in a few weeks. I want to swap out the wind sensor with the one up right now. I cannot get up there right now as we have a few inches of snow.

The console's serial interface was zapped by lightning, but the rest functions seem to work. It would be useful as a second display if you are running wireless. If you are running wired, it would be of no use to you.
