Hi John,

Thank you. making progress. I now get the following error Fatal error: Call to undefined function langtransstr() in /homepages/6/d330860172/htdocs/highlowavg3.php on line 122
 Line 122 from what I can tell from my editor is $monthname = langtransstr($monthname);

So what did I not do correctly?

The link to the page is http://lebanontnwx.org/wxhiloavg.php

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Scott ,

Thanks for the code and the great script I now to work out a couple errors that I likely caused by not doing something right. See above.

The problem is, if you aren't using Ken's new version 3 scripts, the High/Low/Avg script wasn't written to work without some changes.  At the very least you will need to add in the same commented out code at the end of the alternative Dashboard code.  The functions are needed to make it handle multi-languages which is now built into the new script.  Copy and paste the last two from that script at the bottom of the High/low/avg one and that should fix the error.

Bob,

The V3 set was not done by Scott. Those are maintained by Ken, and are basically all the other pages in the set you started with. See http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=10474.msg100819#msg100819 for the details.

I believe the V3  reference is to Kens Saratoga templates.
With Version 3 , you pick a base template & a plugin. ( ie Weather Display, VWS, Culumus)

UPDATE:

The High/Low/Avg script assumes that you have my alternative dashboard version 6.xx installed as well.  If you do not have it installed you will be missing a few tags.  If so, the additional tags are attached here and I will add them in to the archive the next update just to avoid any confusion!

Hi Scott,

I just installed your latest version of High/Low/Avg. Everything went very well with the install. It can be seen at http://www.johnsnhweather.com/wxhilowavg.php
As you can see I'm missing the Station Record for Snow. Do I need to change anything else? The record is

$avgYearRain = 39.40;                   // Calculated Average Rain per Year from your records (Until a Tag Comes Available)
$avgSeasonSnow = 184.0;                  // Calculated Average Snow per Snow Season of your records. (Until a Tag becomes available)
$recordsnowyear = 221.0;                 // Maximum recorded Snow for a Snow Season of your records. (Until a Tag becomes available)
$recordsnowyearseason = '2010/2011';    // Year of Maximum recorded Snow Season from your records. (Until a Tag becomes available)
$recordrainyear = 45.04;                // Maximum recorded Rain for a Year of your records. (Until a Tag becomes available)
$recordrainyearyear = 2010;
Thanks John

John,

First, is there a reason you chose to limit the size of the table to 60%?  It should be 660 px to fit across the whole section of page.  It's a bit "cramp'd"!   Not sure what has happened but the page displays version 1.5 and if you're using the conf file, that is part of version 3.  I think you have multiple versions running at the same time.  Double check your files!

Great script.  Thanks for putting it out there.

Couple of things for you....

I think this is the latest thread.  Version on your downloads page (and this discussion thread) shows as 3.01.  The actual display on the HiLowAvg page shows 3.1.  Both dates line up as March 25, 2011, so I think they are the same.

I have a suggestion for Monthly.php.  You should honor the $useSNOW variable there too.  I made the following changes for my site to eliminate the snow data:

Code: [Select]
<?php if ($useSNOW) {  //  Show Snow Data
?>

      <tr>
                <td style="text-align: left; font-size:9px" class="data1">Avg Snow <?php echo "(" $uomRain "):"?></td>
              </tr>
<?php // End Snow ?>

<SNIP>

And then for the data area

       <?php if ($useSNOW) {  //  Show Snow Data
?>

              <tr>
                <td style="text-align: center; font-size:8px" class="data1">
                  <?php echo strip_units($avsnowjan); ?>
</td>
              </tr>
<?php // End Snow ?>

We don't tend to get any measurable snow in Florida!

Thanks,
Doug

You may also want to change this
Code: [Select]
   <td class="data3"><?php langtrans('Rainfall'); ?><br/><?php langtrans('or Melt'); ?>:</td>
to something like
Code: [Select]
   <td class="data3"><?php langtrans('Rainfall'); ?><br/><?php if ($useSNOW) echo langtrans('or Melt'); ?>:</td>

In the above, you will get the ":" still on the second line.  I fixed it on mine, but the code is too ugly to post!

UPDATE:  Version 3.02 is now available.  See 1st message in this thread for link.

Only minor changes to main program and the Monthly.php section has been changed to allow you to optionally turn off the snow section from the config page now.  No need to download and add this update if you want snow in the monthly section.

Hi Scott,

I am using your excellent High/Low/Ave script and have a question about snow totals.

The totals shown are in cm's (as from the WD log files) but are not translated into inches, as I have set up.

Do you have any idea how I can change this please?   :grin:

Hello Scott,

I have the same issue as Andy does with the average monthly snow being reported in cm.

It seems that the average snow for the Month/MTD for January in your High/Low/Average script (the current month) is too high). It is showing 27.20 inches. The current January average snow is 10.71". I have my settings in the "hi/low/avg" script to report the snow in inches. Does a conversion from "cm" to "in" have to be added to the script?

http://indiantrailweather.com/hiloavg.php

Thank you and BTW your script is great. Nice work ...
