Linux Weather Station App for LaCrosse Station
« on: September 17, 2015, 06:07:39 PM »
One of our WeatherBug PWS operators has migrated to Linux as his primary weather station machine. Here's his weather station model:

The Name of the Professional Weather Station is a La Cross 2308-PWS. the connection is a Serial Port Connection cable 5 ft long going from the wall unit to the Computer. Here is the Phone Number for the La Cross Tech support 1 (608) 782-1610 if you need it

What software app that runs on Linux and sends data to WeatherBug (as well as WU, CWOP, etc) would best work with this station? Would wview work OK?

Thanks!

wview should work.

weewx definitely works, and it does catchup (it reads the station's data logger, although that logger is pretty tiny on the ws23xx hardware)

Sounds good. I will show these to the PWS operator. Thanks for the info!
