We're ecowitt and focus on weather instruments.:)
We have recently developed the WI-FI Weather Sensor Series, including the following:

I have tried the Wireless PM2.5 and soil moisture sensors, along with the WiFi gateway. Quite simple to setup the sensors and gateway.
The gateway has inside temp and hum as well as pressure, which needs a SL calibration. These track very close to my Davis Vue console.
Too cold to set the soil moisture probe outside so have it in an inside flower pot and that seems very good. I do have the air sensor outside and has been in our -23.3°C last night and all is ok!

I tried to load info from your website. The pages load extremely slow, although I have a high-speed connection
You use images, like this one http://www.ecowitt.com/upfile/201812/WH31%20001%20(1).png which are 1000*1000 pixels but are shown in 457*457 pixels. And there are 6 or 7 of these images on one page. Also it seems that all images must be loaded before the rest of the page is shown.
Visiting the site a second time gives normal response times as the images come from the browser cache.
That is probably why you do not find the load-times bad when you are visiting your own website.
The main-page http://www.ecowitt.com/ load takes 38 seconds.

The Soil CH1 sensor continues to show good % but still located inside due to -20°C outside temp along with 20 cm snow cover and haven't been able to check the reception distance.
The PM2.5 unit is outside and shows good data even in this -20°C temp. I have had an occasional spike where it goes from a usual AQI ~40 to >100 and then comes down back to ~40

Would there be any purpose to the PM2.5 sensor to be indoor? I'm just wondering if it could tell you things like time to air out the house and open some windows. Or is its purpose really only for outdoor use?

I just took it to test our area's air quality http://www.ecowitt.com/wifi_weather/83.html
Presumably it could do indoors but haven't compared it by moving it in and outdoors.

I presume the PM2.5 has a fan in it to circulate air and then measure air particles using a laser and a photometer. So how loud is the fan? Is it detectable that there is a fan or is it not detectable? And if it is detectable how bad is it? Some fans have really loud annoying pitch to them where as others are more low frequency and not as irritating.

I just brought it inside as thought I should recharge the batteries - they say fully charged can last for about 20 days (about 500 hours) and I've had it for 13 days but has been very cold here. But battery indicator seems to show full now that I have it plugged in.
I know very little about air quality and sensors but there seems to be no moving parts and certainly no fan sound or visible.
No noticeable data change since I've had it inside for about 20 minutes.

Anyone have any feedback on the soil sensor now that it's growing season in many areas? Could be handy for the garden.

I'm currently running it on a large indoor tropical. I had already had Chirp! sensors in play, so it was easy to calibrate my watering point with the soil sensor (28% on the ecowitt sensor). It's very good and quite in sync with the Chirp! units.
I've got a set of sensors here for my small conifer nursery, and I am just getting ready to set them up. Will report back when that's done.

The PM2,5 WH41 sensor has a fan.
I have not heard how it works, so it is probably very quiet.
It is possible that it turns on only for the duration of the measurement.

Hehe thanks for the reply! [tup] I since posting that question now have the PM2.5 sensor and yep, I never hear it. I had it in the house initially to get a baseline. I never heard the fan and my ears are okay. It's now outside where it is most useful to me. I too think it only turns on when measuring (still I've never heard it) because the battery lasts forever, though I'm sure the solar panel is doing its part, but I have it in indirect light covered by patio roof...i have to charge it every couple months for a few hours.

Range is probably like most other Fine Offset devices. 300 ft advertised direct line of sight but about 100 ft real world with walls and windows. The sensor itself does not use WiFi. It is RF (radio frequency) one way broadcast to the console. Then the console connects to your WiFi.
