Title: Blitzortung presentation to local Ham club
Post by: miraculon on March 09, 2016, 04:17:20 PM
I offered to make a presentation to the local Ham club about Blitzortung and VLF lightning detection. I know Tobi put together a paper a while back, but I thought that I would ask here if anyone has some material that I could use.

I'll let you know when I get home...  I made a presentation to LARC here a year ago and obtained some info from a couple of forum members here as well.

After a long hiatus from having "face to face QSO" (other than Field Day) our local Ham club met last night. I presented the pitch that I adapted from Ian (2E0DDI/chatterisweather.com) and Paul of komokaweather.com (thanks again, guys if you read this). I basically updated it for BLUE.

I started with a demo of the two sites and showed what is available to particpants, like special data, detailed maps, etc. before going into the PowerPoint slides.

Glad it went well Greg.  Blitzortung is a sharing network isn't it!

Hi Greg,

Glad your presentation went well, Blitzortung is a great community project so I'm sure you will have stimulated more to participate.

Cheers
