For the first time in a long time, gas prices are over $2.00 everywhere in Stillwater.  The cheapest as of Friday evening was at Murphy's by N. Perkins Rd. Wal-Mart at $2.06 with a holy mackerel sunset as pictured.  $2.06 is the cheapest in Stillwater as of Friday evening.  Interesting on late Friday morning how higher oil and gas prices prices coincided with one of the strongest earthquakes in Oklahoma in quite some time with a magnitude of 4.2.  Five disposal wells near the epicenter were ordered shut down and 10 others restricted.

Around here it spikes up around 3 or 4 on the morning. Then starts to ease back in the afternoon. Starts to hit good lows after midnight to start all over again next day.

It's post election folks, get ready for big changes, it's coming. I was in Mexico last Tues and it's higher than here, but we're rapidly catching up.

Gas prices in Stillwater are now between $2.04 and $2.19.  My favorite place since it's closest  is at Murphy's at $2.05.  But at the Wal-Mart station further up north it's $2.04.  Since unlike Murphy's, it's a little out of my way, so never bought gas there before.  The town's only Wal-Mart Neighborhood Center is nearby.  Shopped there before, but never saw fit to go back there much, since the Perkins Rd. Wal-Mart super center is enough and in easy walking distance.

You know I believe you're right and I'll not bother to document the list, I'm sure you've seen it, it's quite long, I believe it's called a rising tide lifts all boats. But, enough for this.

I'm in Central TX and in the middle of a thunder ice storm, the first crash of thunder woke me at 6:27 and continues, the freezing rain has apparently plugged up the rain gauge because it's not registering. They're talking 4" of snow Monday, must be global warming? Now I'd like to make a snarky comment about this being a result of the election, but I won't, it's not my nature.

I know many of you are not impressed with our little storm down here in TX, anymore than we consider you Summer heat complaints - but we're struggling a bit. We dropped to 5.7 degrees this morning with 4" of snow on top of 1/4" of ice and are expecting more ice tomorrow night. Ok, I grew up in snow country, no problem, but here I don't have a snow shovel, ice scraper or even a pair of boots to go out and play in the snow? Yesterday the power went off for 3 hours which was a bit unnerving and so I decided to fill up the car in case the cat and I had to spend the night in it. I went to the first station and they only had $uper, I went to the town nearby, they only had $uper, so I went to a third station and filled up with - yes, $uper at $2.79 a gallon. I lost power again last night but only for about 20 minutes. Many areas around TX are having rolling blackouts as there is a power shortage due in part to half the big wind turbines being frozen up, like my weather station. So, we'll see how it goes, first we were locked down by the Covid scam and now it's a natural disaster - we deserve a break today.

There were hour long blackouts Tues. morning for a bunch of Oklahoma Cities, including Stillwater, but did not affect my part of town.  This morning, below zero temperatures were everywhere in Oklahoma, probably unprecedented.  More snow, but no below zero temps expected tonight or Wed. morning.  Maybe that will be enough to prevent another blackout.
