As Arty Johnson used to say on Laugh-In...."very interesting"! I don't believe the latest eruption is involved in this possible Maunder Minimum. The Sun has certainly been in a minima of spot activity. I have been checking
www.spaceweather.com regularly and the Sun was "spotless" most of the times. Since 2004 there have been 820 spotless days. It is interesting that in a normal minima there are only 486 spotless days. I might have to hold off buying that solar telescope if the Sun is going into a sleep period.
