I just spent one of the most frustrating hours of my time trying to get the GoDaddy Linux server that runs my site upgraded to the latest PHP.

I followed their guide and either it is outdated, or they haven't upgraded their target screens to contain any of the key words.  I finally found the upgrade, and I found out that the latest that they'd upgrade to was 5.6, which is pretty old.

I wonder if there are any GoDaddy users here, and if you are able to get to 7 or beyond?

Hi Dale,
I am with GoDaddy and have been on version 7.4 for likely a year or more.
I have just signed in to my cPanel and 8.0 is offered.  I did not change yet as I want to do that when I have more time and not at 12:02 am ;)

Enjoy,
Paul

Like Paul, I've been on GoDaddy's PHP 7.4 for over a year now.

My best guess about your problem, Dale, is that you're on a legacy Linux server and that somehow you eluded migration to GoDaddy's latest Linux servers that include the cPanel.  Without the cPanel it's very difficult to manage a GoDaddy website.

GoDaddy's tech support performed the migration for me, and although not seamless it was fairly straightforward.

OK, thanks for the info from some who are actually using it.

I guess I need to find a time when I can camp on the phone and talk with a real person.

Knowing others ARE on a higher level is nice, so there is hope!

I was using 7.4 for quite some time.  I recently upgraded to 8.0 without issue.

I see in a previous thread you having issues.  I'm running the standard dashboard, not the 6.
