Acurite 01540m Indoor temp.
« on: December 15, 2019, 09:28:27 PM »
Just installed Acurite 01540m indoor temp reads 5 degrees too high. Is there anyway to calibrate it?

No calibration for that model. The manual (page 14) for troubleshooting mentions to make sure the unit is away from heat sources and vents [radiators, hot kitchen, windows with direct sun...etc. ]

Its sitting together with my Vantage Vue and 2 other room thermometers. All read the same except the Acurite.

If your talking about calibrating it for your MyAcurite page then yes . Go to Settings , Devices find your temp sensor and click on edit . You can edit the temp and humidity there . Only works on the MyAcurite page and not to any displays it sending to .  Hope that helps .

I cant get on the Acurite page, It seems mine only connects to Weather Underground. However Its the unit itself.

I found the problem with the indoor temp reading. With the light off the temp is correct, when I turn the light on, the temp starts rising until its 5 degrees too high. I suppose the only fix is to open it and pull the sensor on the outside of the console. A design fault for sure.  I already opened it once and moved the sensor but it didn't help. There is no place in the insides that is room temp.

I pulled the sensor outside, the leads are long enough. You can also close the case with the lease and the sensor hanging out. I bent it around to the back side and the temp now agrees with my other 2 thermometers.
