No CWOP Upload Since Firmware Upgrade to Version 2.36

(1/2) > >>

Pete B:
Hi

When I purchased my WiFi Logger at the start of this year, it had firmware version 2.24 and after setup, it worked perfectly. I was uploading VP2 Pro data to Weatherlink, Wunderground, Weathercloud, Met Office WOW and CWOP via the WiFi logger with no issues.

However, since the 2.36 upgrade, data now uploads to all but CWOP. I registered with CWOP some years ago to upload the data using my amateur radio callsign with the relevant settings. These details were the same in the data export page before and after the WiFi logger firmware upgrade.

So far, I have tried:

Soft reset of WiFi logger several times.

Cancelling and re-entering all the upload data for CWOP.

Temporarily disabling all the other uploads so only CWOP remained enabled.

Changing the upload detail from rotate.aprs.net to rotate.aprs2.net and back.

All to no avail. Uploading using exactly the same CWOP settings in Weatherlink software or Cumulus on the PC works with no problem.

I have included a couple of random debug details for the CWOP upload attempts from the WiFi logger below:

CWOP 10

Renew HiLows

Thanks for any help.

Looks like there is also another problem since 3/9 your wind data just does not look right. Maybe it is legit...for you to decide....just looks suspicious.

Pete B:
Yes, a problem, thanks for highlighting it. It's a completely unrelated issue and I think it's solved now. It was/is connected with the uploads from Weatherlink but I'm monitoring carefully now for any recurrence. If there is any, I will go back to my original pre WiFi logger method of using Cumulus to upload to all the weather websites until the logger issue is fixed.

The WiFi logger CWOP upload issued remains unsolved and I'm just waiting to see if poster 'WiFiLogger' comes up with any advice regarding the issue since firmware 2.36 upgrade.

In 2.36 I have changed one thing.
Field password contains your password, but in fact firmware is generating password itself.
Here you have: -1 vers WiFiLogger2 2.36
And it will be like this no matter you will put into field pass.
This is because pass should be -1, or -1 vers....
So it is fixed value, there is no need to put it into to the form.
But maybe in your case pass is very needed to upload data?

Well yes but of course when using a ham radio call sign with the ham servers then a password is required or the upload will not work. Only regular non-ham CWOP stations upload with -1 as a password to a different set of cwop servers.

See here for details:
http://www.wxqa.com/servers2use.html

Ham CWOP IDs can upload to the non-ham servers if they want. Then they don't need the password and would then use the -1 as everyone else.
