Thunderstorm warning now.  It should get interesting soon.

We had some pea-sized hail a little while ago.  There is a tornado warning just south of me now.  But I think the worst is nearly over for now.  These storms are really moving on.

An interesting note:  The barometric pressure increased around 2.5 mb during the storm.

The increase in pressure is usually caused by the outflow boundaries of the storm, creating a mini-high...

New Orleans LA and mobile AL are getting pounded right now.

We've had widespread wind damage reports.  Lots of trees and power lines down across southeast Louisiana, along with a few roofs ripped off.  We had 50+ mph gusts from the frontal passage alone.  As this line pushes east into Alabama, the tornado threat is higher....especially for southern Alabama.

Our CAP down here held pretty well in tack until just before the line moved in.  Pretty good job by the RUC model.

I'll tell you what when that line came through here this morning that sky was the meanest, darkest sky I ever saw. It was like whoa!.
The bark was much worse then the bite though. A little wind and some thunder and it was all over. Sure wish I had a good camera this morning. :-x
