That said, if I was raised on metric, I would probably like it and hate the US way!
I was born and raised until age 10 in metric (remember well the little cups we had in school, from very small to 1 litre, each 10 times larger than the other, and how easy it was to remember). Then to the imperial system in Canada and learning an inch being the King's thumb and a yard his reaching-out arm...
until metrication in the 1970s when gas went from about $1 to 25c
and we could drive 100 per/h
It took me about 20 years to quit converting in my mind from metric to imperial, and now totally quite comfortable with metric, except understanding L/100 vs mpg
So actually you can get used to it, and like it
