We already had some this Tuesday, but it melted day after. Now it is just very slippery on the sidewalks because the temp at night is fluctuating around 0C and it is raining.

5AM, 65 degrees.

Yesterday, November 17 clocked in at 22 degrees above normal.  The same date in 2014 clocked in at 22 degrees below normal with 2 inches of snow.  Each of the other years since I started keeping track were above normal (2013 +17, 2015 +16), yet the dates within a week either way have been below normal.  Something odd about this transitional period between seasons.

Good deal. Seems to work better with drifting and not heating up hopefully. I taped the numbers up and painted the middle section (heavier metal) white. Won't know how well it works until sun comes out.

After two days of hi temps in the low 80s, there is a freeze warning tonight over most of Oklahoma.  About all the rain associated with the cold front was confined to far southeast Oklahoma.

Single digits won't surprise me by morning. Forecast calling for 11° (-11.6 C) but almost always on high side after fresh snow. It will be closer to 0-5°F is my prediction unless wind stays up. 29° is the high so far today and losing 30° with fresh snow is normal around here.

After a 20.9°C beautiful sunny day yesterday looks like our summer is over and we bypassed fall and going directly in to winter:
Quote
Watches 4:48 AM EST Saturday 19 November 2016
Snow squall watch in effect for:

  • London - Parkhill - Eastern Middlesex County
  • Strathroy - Komoka - Western Middlesex County
Snow squalls are expected to develop. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.

Lake effect snow likely beginning tonight and continuing Sunday..

After the record setting warm spell of the past couple of days, a significant change in the weather is expected as much colder arctic air blasts in over the mild waters of the Great Lakes tonight and Sunday. As a result, conditions will quickly become favourable for snow squalls to develop tonight and continue through Sunday.

Local snowfall amounts in the heaviest snow squalls of 10 to 20 cm are expected overnight and Sunday. In addition, strong and gusty northwest winds will whip up freshly fallen snow, resulting in sudden very low to at times nil visibility in blowing snow.

There is a possibility that a strong snow squall off of Lake Huron may become nearly stationary across the region Sunday into Sunday night. If this happens, local snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 cm are possible by Monday morning.

Driving conditions will quickly deteriorate tonight after the flurries and snow squalls arrive. Motorists should consider adjusting their travel plans accordingly.

Latest indications suggest that snow squalls will continue through Sunday night before slowly weakening to flurries on Monday.
Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Road closures are possible.

Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.

Enjoy?
Paul

I would say yes :D

I mean 21C for Canada in mid November?! And I prefer cold weather much more than I do warm. I would rather -10C than 35 :)

that was a big pic. Had to shrink it.

These towns hit the jackpot for snow. Add a few inches for both.

Ranchers were worried about young livestock here. Most calves don't have winter coats yet because of the usual warmth. My cousin and her family rounded up hundred calves or so and put in barns last night.
She texted me this morning saying it was 5° at the ranch also last night but didn't have report how the calves did.

Wow... what a range!

Im particularly surprised by that 98 because that is even close to the record warmest here. The absolute highest temp for the Czech Republic is 104, but that wasn't where I live, here it is more like 101/102. And I myself have measured over 100 about twice.

That minimum of course is something I cant even imagine, but Im not surprised given where you live :D I actually like cold as well, I hate hot weather. But here it hardly ever gets below -5F, which you probably think is absurd :D I think the coldest I have ever experienced was -15F, but that is very long time ago, usually in the winter we have daily max around freezing point or 40F, at night it drops to 15-20 F.

bit of nip in the air this evening. Since midnight  we have dropped 20 deg and dropping  midnight it was 9 above   here at 2030 we are -9.8 deg F. and still going  down.  Ft Yukon  today was -21.  they are generally the first to  drop into the big negative numbers  then Fairbanks as the cold air  moves up the Tanana river basin.

We're having snow, but at 7:20 this morning temp was 1.1°C which is about 34F so not much difference to you
Have some snowbird friends who reside in the Villages, that wouldn't be too far from you, and they come back in the spring and say they went golfing every day.  They are coming back this way in a couple weeks and will see how their golfing was on Nov 20th ;)

Enjoy,
Paul

I try to avoid that place like the plague. Way too many people and none of them can drive.
Of course this time of year it doubles. We always bid them snowbirds a healthy "adios" come springtime.  :-)
