My mean temperature for October was 40.9° F, which is 4.0° above my twenty year average but is not a record.  In 2003 the mean was 42.9° F.  November has started out very mild, with a current mean of 37.1° F and predicted highs in the low to mid-50s for the next ten days.  My twenty year average for November is 25.8° F, so the last half of the month will have to be extremely cold to get down to average.

First freeze of the season here hasn't happened and long range it still won't happen through Nov. 20.  Nov. 2 was the last day with high in the 80s, very near record.  But a TV weatherman said he expects no more 80s for the rest of the year.

Where does he get the long range? Found this computer model for comparison. http://www.weathertab.com/en/g/united-states/oklahoma/74074-stillwater/

The TV weatherman didn't say.  It's a bold prediction, since I believe there are a bunch of record highs that got into the 80s for the rest of the year.

Well the TV weatherman isn't God so take it with a grain of salt.

Still very cold here and it is supposed to get even colder in the upcoming days. We are already 4-5 degrees below the long-term average.

It will eventually get worse (colder) on next ice age so enjoy. I'm hoping it doesn't occur in next 90 years during my grandchildren's life, but it will come. Happens about every 14,000 years and we are do.

You started it by mentioning Ice ages and you know very well what my stance is in terms of global warming, so you are the one provoking.

Our posts dont contradict each other ;)
I do believe we will have another ice age and I do agree it probably isnt too far away (though definitely not something you or me should worry about if we assume cryoconservation wont become possible), but that does not contradict the fact that right now, the Earth is warming up and we are in a period of global warming (note carefully my wording, I did not say this is caused by humans, I personally think it is highly likely, but not 100%).

Don't make me post the historic world temps again. It has been much warmer some 1-4C globally just before last ICE AGE.... All Americans aren't stupid and do know what the historical data says.

I think you need to move that 100% to 50% if really serious and want to investigate and ask real questions what's going on. It's so clear to me...One thing we agree on, no-doubt we will go into another ice age.

Absolutely correct, it has been MUCH warmer in the past, but the change was not so rapid and dont you think it is slightly suspicious that right at the moment we largely increased our CO2 and other GHG emmisions, the temps shot up? The CO2 conc. was also higher in the past, but the change wasnt so fast.

And we are not talking about warming, also the number of extreme events etc. it is all interconnected (butterfly effect). It is not just about the averages.

It is literally snowing leaves out there this morning under a couple of trees.  They've been falling continuously since sunrise, just like big snowflakes.

Would you rather they were real snowflakes or do you prefer warmer weather? :D

I hate snow, but at 23 degrees it could easily have been either.

Still significantly below average here (around -6 deg compared to normal). Tonight we had -6 C at night, which is very unusual for this time of the year. The temps around this time dont normally go below 0 too much.

Oklahoma City still hasn't had the first freeze of Fall.  Latest in recorded history that it has ever happened was December 8th, 1998.     Average 1st freeze, Nov. 5.

First snow.... I just came from work and you could be ice skating on the sidewalks... it started snowing at about 8PM and when I went home from work at 10PM there was a thin layer of snow, but the temperature is just below freezing point and it is now rather raining than snowing, so there is ice layer below the snow :)

Yesterday's high was 61° F, today has Red Flag warnings out with a high predicted of 60° F.  They are predicting 1-3" of snow for tomorrow.  Gotta love early winter in the Rockies.

This week end we are going into the plunge with day time below nothing or a little bit above it. Night time temps are going down to 20 to 25 below. No more of these minus 5 nite temps for an bit.

And we're at 76 today and then back in the same area tomorrow, followed by storms and a drop back into the 50s for highs by next week.

Last day we see 6 hours of sun here till next February.  daytime high today was 13 and tomorrow suppose to hit 5 in Fairbanks  so we will be an bit cooler. The valleys are starting to fill up with cold dense air as one fills it spills over to the next. Weekend  forecast is clear and cold so lot of heat lost at nights also.

Looks like snow coming up. First of the year.

I do not think it will last long. The ground is still warm and full sun on Saturday.
