Hi folks, just got a new server as my old onw is running centos6 and i need 7, anyhoo, its just a cheap kimsufi jobby so you get no management, same as the server i already have.
The issue i am having is, not knowing what i am doing and cannot remember what i did to get the old one running, been a few years now. You would think it would be simple, get a server, they send email with the details, password etc, nothing of the sort, you have to netboot into emergency mode, that then sends you a temp root password that takes you into root@rescue:~# prompt.
The instructions ive read on the useless kimsufi forum dont make any sense to me, it says you can then # passwd root to change the password, done this many times and it just says the password is denied when i try to login to normal ssh, at me wits end with it now.
Heres the instructions, but, a lot of that does not resmble what i am seeing
when i fdisk in, i get
root@rescue:~# fdisk -l

I really hope theres someone in the know, cause i sure aint, im sure it wasnt this difficult with the existing kimsufi server
