Judging from the local storm reports on my web page http://ucweather.org/iembotstmrpt6.php the East Coast is real mess, a lot of street flooding, trees down, and airport delays.

The east coast flooding isn't directly from TD Nicole but she is definitely affecting it.

It's just a big moisture plume traveling up the coast. Definitely a big rainmaker up and down the coast though. We've had an upper level low parked on top of us here in Atlanta all day. This morning when I was driving to work, you could see clouds off in the distance (and not too far away) in every direction, but in the center where I was it was perfectly clear. It rained most of the day in a semi-circle around us except not at the house. Late today I finally had a little but not enough to measure.

Lots of rain in Virginia today.  The morning commute was a real bear.  As of 4:00 this afternoon, my station in Massanutten registered 3.45 inches since midnight and my station in Manassas registered 2.5 inches.  That's a lot of water!

Yeah, that "circle" of precipitation looked strange on the weather maps today.  And it never got mentioned, since the focus was on the east coast.

It really was strange. And it didn't move for a long time. I'll bet the rain fell only 4-5 miles away from my house all day.

Glad someone got some rain out of Nicole. On the west coast of Florida, I only got 0.01in out of it...that was just from a heavy dew. I did get 1.06in on the 28th from a passing cool front (too early to say cold in FL)..atleast its drying out some behind the front and Nicole ushering a N-Nw breeze. We should get to about 67deg F by Friday morning  Very Happy yea!

I think this storm proves that you don't have to have wind in order to cause damage... The entire eastern seaboard is now an official bog.... Is the EPA protecting the alligators by controlling Mother Nature using telokonesis?
