Those are great pics. I haven't been watching the news lately so I don't know if they had it on the air. I doubt it - they're too busy sensationalizing all the meaningless stories that most of us wouldn't even give a good "Hmmm" to.
I saw one like that in AZ on a road trip once. Tallest one I've ever seen and long lasting too. I get dozens of them right across the street on the BLM land but never any like that one in the pics!
I'm still trying to hit 90 today. 93.7 yesterday. And, of course, the winds pick up again on Thursday.

For awhile today the forecast for Thursday was "Slight Chance Svr T-Storms" but I believe that was a typo (they now read Slight Chance T-Storms) - looking at the latest SPC Conv. Outlook maps - we just get plain jane thunderstorms (with not much rain). Upper 70s by Thursday. Hit a high of 85*F up here....supposed to hit a record 88*F for tomorrow. 110*F mid June? Yup.

91 yesterday and 92 today already. My APR 22 high of 93.7 should fall today.
I don't know about mid-June. Early June maybe? My highest temp of 108 was on June 6 2010.
EDIT: And fall it did. 93.8 at 4:10. Also my first day that didn't go under 65 for a low (65.2).

92.3 today and "Near 90" for tomorrow along with 40+MPH winds...
Maybe those winds will blow some of these d@mn Miller Moths out of the area. They're everywhere and supposed to get worse.

High winds expected tomorrow. And a slight chance of thunderstorms. Friday is all rain, some wind. Just what I need for Friday...the last day of finals...nasty weather on the highway.

Not so much as southern parts of the state. Can't say they're not embedded in the radiator of my truck...or living under the hood (every time I fire it up...mothra has emerged.)

I've had worse than this since I moved here but they're supposed to crank it up as time goes by. Garage looks like an aviary after I pull in at nite. Hard to keep them out of the house at that point.
This is now my station's warmest April - 66.9. Beat last April by a tenth of a degree so far. Last April was 4 degrees higher than any I've had since 2007 and I had NO days of 90+ (89.5 highest). This April has had 5 90+ days so far.

We had our deep freeze this week...Thursday hit a high of 68, dropped to 48 in two hours.
Been cloudy all day, started to rain a little bit earlier this evening.
Lower 80s all next week!

Nice day with 86*, 5-15MPH breezes and some thin cloud cover. Good day to finally get on the roof to open the swamp cooler. Looks like it's time to replace that 13 year old motor...

Of all the swamp cooler motors I've ever had to replace...their lifetime has always been between one season to less than ten years! Wow!

Mfg date of 1999 on it. Shocked me too and I probably could get another season out of it - maybe - but that side to side shaft play is a bit much for my tastes. I can see me changing it when it's 105 outside if I don't now.

I'm waiting on it. "Large Hail" is what keeps showing up in the Advisories. 12 degree temp drop in the last hour and the skies look evil with some pretty big bolts flying here & there. NWS Advisories are going nuts down here - Flash Flood, Severe Lightning, T-Storms, etc. 59 days since last precip. EDIT: Dropped another 14 degrees since original post and 0.10" of rain!

We saw some bolts here and there, and some brief gusts...but no rain...unless you far north of here in the mountains... ARRRRGH. Tomorrow looks less promising.

Finished with 0.41" of rain - a nice steady, cold rain. Severe T-storms 'casted for Wednesday with possible large hail still mentioned.

send some my way! It looks like some of the action is creeping into Arizona, but not quite making it far enough north to get to me.
pretty odd weather pattern for this time of year.

It started to look very serious in the afternoon but only 0.08" fell. Some real nasty looking stuff started flowing in from the north of me but I didn't get much here.
1.15" YTD. Didn't have this much last year until mid-August.

Friday afternoon saw .08" of rain...and a lot of wind. Yesterday a severe storm was traveling off the mountains and into the valley... unfortunately it skated to the west of Albuquerque and ended up falling apart as it entered the Belen area (a good 30 miles south of Albuquerque). Anvil of this thing was HUGE...got some decent pics of mammatus... I'll get 'em up soon. 40% chance of thunderstorms today and tonight. Slight chance of severe weather according to the SPC.

Saw it! On radar that is! I believe it was more of a dustnado than mesocyclonic by any extremes. Somehow GRLevel3 needs a recording feature for weather events. Then again that would defeat the purpose of GRLevel2... Another severe storm passed to our south again...a bit further south actually, but it set off my weather radio. Weather forecast seems to be showing a high moving in...91*f forecasted for Thursday.
