A lot of my friends and their smartphones are saying it's 0/-0/-1 outside...including my iPod touch.

My weather station says 6*F, thermometer in the bedroom says 8*F, and TWC, Weatherbug and a few local Wunderground stations go from 12*F to 7*F.

We bottomed out at 4*F at 6:18AM this morning...and maxed out to 26*F at 3:43PM this afternoon. Right now we're about ten degrees warmer than yesterday at this time...though it'll still drop to around 10*F tonight...with warmer temps into the 40s by Friday.

Right now at 0130, while looking at yet another "Record Low" (Wunderground: 15*/2005) for the day, I'm at 12.7 which is 3.4 less than 24 hours ago. 17.2 at midnite. But NO WIND.

Hit 14*F at 6:47AM this morning...then hit a high of 36*F at 3:58PM. My truck has a sheet of ice along the front and drivers side. Might just pull it out into the street and have the driver's side thaw out tomorrow. Or take it to a self-serve carwash. Decisions, decisions.

I was a bit premature with my "no wind" proclamation. Some light winds gave me a 0.2 below W/Chill with my 10.8 ambient at 0330. 36.9 was a nice high this afternoon.

Farmtalk - that snow in Roswell is a good thing. Aliens like snow. It keeps them happy and peaceful.

Well, thanks to our anonymously-moved-out renters, and the fact that they shut the gas off to the house...and because of last weeks freeze...the house now has friggin' water damage, especially in the bathroom and a bedroom. This comes at a VERY bad time. So we got the gas back on at $62/hr service charge...and now we have to dry the house out.  Brick wall Brick wall Brick wall Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

In the meantime, I picked up .12" of rain yesterday...

Looks like a repeat of last week coming along:

We're expected to see the rain and snow return Sunday night and last through Tuesday...I'm not really expecting much out of it. Once we have one major snow storm, it's the snow storm of the season. Everything else is weak.  Confused

Though to say the least I would be surprised nonetheless if we got wind, bitter cold and tons of snow again this winter...  Brick wall

As for the house, here comes a $4k insurance check. So everything works out.  Dancing

A couple of pitter patters on the skylites led way to a 3.5"/hr rain rate with lightning and thunder.

So far, it's put me over an inch for the month 1.03" (4.10"/yr). My wettest month this year is AUG with a "whopping" 1.12".

It sounds like it's starting up again so I'm confident that DEC will easily be my wettest month.(Easy money - DEC is now 1.15"

More rain chances tomorrow until 11AM then some 48 MPH gusts...

Have the poles shifted?

EDIT: El Paso reporting hail.

Woke up to light snow...four hours later, heavy snow. And it's sticking to anything and everything.

However, it's not nearly as much as the last system to blow snow through here.

This storm is all the news for the panhandles and northern NM.

US70 down here heading to White Sands was closed on the other side of the pass with white-out and freezing roads this morning. I don't know if I had snow this AM but did have some more bucket tips and nothing white on the ground.

The 12 hours from start to end being broken by the day change almost became my wettest day of the year. 0.57" on Sept 14th and this "storm" total was 0.55". DEC total is now 0.25" more than AUG.
