Someone please inform the Weather Channel that while an oil spill is big news, it is not weather news. At least it is not "breaking" weather news, and it is certainly not headline weather news. While a severe weather system is getting ready to take aim at a good portion of the United States for the second weekend in a row, and while there are severe weather watches and warnings up for parts of the country as I type this, the last thing I want to see on the weather channel is people discussing the oil spill in the Gulf Coast! It is the Weather Channel, NOT NBC.
