Periodically the "using server" in the APRS section with change back to "rotate" from the setting I use:  "cwop.aprs.net".
There is no pattern to when it is being reset back to "rotate".
What is happening and why and what can I do to stop this ?  Confused
Also my settings are to restart the system software on a daily basis.

TIA,
Carl,

Yes.  What software are you using?

I was about to guess that was what you were using, but I had to go into my software archives to find a number like that.
Its called vwsaprs, its an add on for virtual weather station.

The reason its reverting is that your software is very old, from before they cared about which server to use.  I am surprised your uploads are working.

I have a copy of 1.9.5 and its time/date stamp in Jan 2007.

Prior to switching my cwop uploads to WD, I was using a vwsaprs version from July 2008.  I would say at least version 1.9.8

You need to upgrade.

Even though this link has 142 in the name, I assume this is the place to find it.

Andrew,

Just download the newer version 1.8.8.0....
Will see what happens, as my problem only occurs very irregularly.
And thanks.

It is still not fixed, in the past three days, twice it has reverted back to "ROTATE".

Carl,
You mentioned 1.8.8 .....  was that a typo, as that appears to be be several version old. 1.9.5 for me was the old method...

Also if you in fact meant 1.9.8, did you delete or rename the old vwsaprs.exe file?  I know for one of my upgrades I thought I was on the new version, but after a reboot it loaded the previous one.  Since vwsaprs is not actually an install type install (just an exe) perhaps the same thing happened to you.  I just renamed the old ones with the version number in the file name.

Andrew,

Bad finger typo, version is: 1.9.8.0. That is according to what is being displayed.
Also note the server information is RED....
