Could you possibly explain what's going on.  I access data from two weather stations. WM2 and Vantage pro2 wireless.
Putting it simply they both now work through the serial communication port 1 on the PC / software, via an adapter. This means that the software is running on the new Win7

On XP I had one stream of data coming through comm. Port 2, (via a serial to USB connection)  there are 6 or 7 on my PC   It now seems that  on WIN7  none of the USB ports will  allow any communication between the weather stations.

Two sets of software and weather stations are;-
Davis Weather Monitor2 via Weatherlink version 4.0
Davis Vantage pro2 via Weatherlink version 5.5.1

I can get around it by swapping the jack plug around each time, but this is not ideal, when I have other USB ports I can use.

The question:- is  it a Win7 problem, A PC configuration or weather station issue?

I'm waiting for a 2nd reply from my supplier – he seems to think it's a case of permissions don't know what he means by this.

Have you any clues?
