I got this off Ebay. Weathergirl told me about it. Have my 9000 in there.
Has a cooling fan and heater also. Great deal.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220238109831&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123

I just received one of these enclosures to use with a Logitech 9000 - it has changed slightly from what is shown on eBay, the bracket now mounts to two nuts in a track running the length of the bottom, offering more flexibility when installing.

Two questions:

Which two terminals did you use to power the fan/heater? The directions are not very clear on this. I'll be using the 12VDC option.

If anyone has their camera looking up slightly, did you angle the housing up or aim the camera up inside the enclosure (lens not parallel to the glass)?

Thanks
Mike

Hope you still need this Mike.

I just took an outdoor extension cord (the green wire) and hooked it up as shown.

I assume this is using 110VAC?
It would be my simplest option since I have an attic light near my wire pass-thru into the attic.

Thanks

Yes Sir.

I ran mine through the wall and plugged it into an outlet in the basement.

OK, I have one of these heater-blower enclosures and am having an issue with one of its components, or with my wiring job.

I found part of an outdoor electrical extension cord with the male plug-in still attached and the green, white, and black wires already stripped to short lengths.  Undoubtedly intended for one of my other unfinished projects around here.

I'm not an electrician but know just enough to be dangerous.

Here is the full extent of the instructions for hooking up the wiring, and a photo of the hookup.  (Click to enlarge.)

I know to hook up the green wire to "earth".  I hooked up the hot wire to + (marked "L" in the photo) and the black wire to "N" (nature??).  When I plugged in the cord, the resistor "R1" started smoking after a couple of seconds, and I quickly unplugged the cord.  The fan motor never started.  I'm hoping I caught this before I did any damage to it.

(I dismounted the card/board just for photo purposes, in case you are wondering from the photo.  Everything was screwed down when I hooked power to it.)

What am I doing wrong?

Maybe I'm missing something, but are you saying you connected the 24 volt AC input directly to a 120 volt AC outlet?

OK, I can see where that might be a problem.    d'oh! Embarassed

So I guess I need to look for a 24V adapter somewhere.

just bought the new logitech HD pro webcam c910. added to my outside cams, which are microsoft HD lifecams. so far, so good. pics are similar, logitech a tad brighter it seems, but could be the sun angle difference. you can see them all here:

http://weatherbear.com/

the logitech is the one looking NNE, the other 3 widescreen cams are the Lifecam. the NW cam is s sharx network cam...not HD.

Which Sharx model do you have? I love mine!
