I'm going to be mounting my Logitech 9000 outside, and inside some kind of enclosure (unheated). What's the operating temperature limits for this camera? At what temperature should I be worried that it's too cold and may harm the camera? I live in Vermont so we can get some cold stuff here. I thought I read a post somewhere that said it could easily operate below freezing, but approaching 0F can be a problem.

I got this off Ebay. Weathergirl told me about it. Have my 9000 in there.
Has a cooling fan and heater also. Great deal.

That is a wicked price.  heated and fan? 12 volt? could use my 12 volt line dedicated for rain gauge heaters for it.

US postal service shipping  Dancing .... me like.
If Weathergirl used it, they must ship to Canada.

I had to hook my own power cord to it.  I cut up an extension cord.

Heater. Fan. 12 Volt.  I had to make a contraption to mount my camera on,
And I moved the heater to one side so I could get the cam lens closer to the glass.

I love it.  Cool

I've got mine mounted outside in a halogen outdoor flood light enclosure. I'ts been running 24/7 since the middle of January, through several snow events and one pretty good sized rain event. Lowest temperature during that time was probably about 24 degrees F.
Mounted under the eaves, directly to the wall. I made a little "splash hood" over the top of it out of some flexible plastic packaging. It kept any splash off of the glass front pretty well.
I have to say I expected this setup to fail, but it's worked perfectly -so far. 6weeks+ and counting.

I came across this site for housings
$17.99 for an unheated enclosure with mounting arm.
$19.99 for one with heater/blower. This one doesn't come with a bracket, get one for $7.99.
$9.98 for shipping.

I just ordered 2 of them. 1 as a backup and 1 as a replacement. If anybody in Canada is interested I would be willing to purchase and ship the units to you guys. I would accept Paypal payment and than get them out to you guys within a day or 2 of them getting here. Let me know if anybody is interested.

GREAT find BTW  Applause Dancing

Pat I ordered the Ebay version that was posted in the link above.

If anybody is interested, I asked the seller if they would offer a discount on a multi-unit buy and he said that he would. He said the discount would depend on the number of units ordered. If you guys are interested in a "Group Buy" let me know.

When I ordered my enclosure from Ebay, I asked the seller to ship it via USPS and he was happy to oblige. It was much cheaper, even to Canada Smile

TigerDirect.ca has the Lorex ACC1721HB  case for $65 CAD - free shipping on $100 purchase and they often have $1.99 shipping.  I think I will wait.

What is aggravating is that if you buy those things in bulk from overseas they run about 6-8 bucks each.  But you have to buy a case.

Yup, NAFTA hard at work.  US Postal is surprisingly good x-border, but very few folks use them.
