I wonder if VWS and Image Salsa will run on Linux?
-
The remote computer isn't doing anything else, and I wondered if it would be more reliable.
-
The weatherstation has a serial logger ( Davies ) and there are four cameras on USB convertors.

I tried that with an earlier version of VWS and running it under WINE I was able to get the program to load just fine but I
never did get any live data.  May have to try that again as I have an extra 968 up and running and a couple of machines I could load Ubuntu or similar on.

I know there is a Linux version of Weather Display and I think there was a WUHU release that supported Linux at one time. I have it saved somewhere IIRC.

I am having connection problems as well now, I shall have to sort those out first.

Trouble is, I am working from a remote computer and can't get to it during the  week.

I have been running wview as my linux console software for over 2 years.  It uses sqlite as its backend database.  Image processing on linux is definitely more limited than windows.  Imagemagick is the easiest to script for linux.  It is not big on motion video, but for jpgs it is great.

Weather Display from what I understand has a great Linux version. I haven't tried to use the Linux version yet but I am seriously
considering giving it a shot.

Or run VirtualBox in Linux and then set up an XP VM for weather apps.
