The NWS has just issued another Warning for my area.  At this point I have had 55 inches of snow this winter season.  And it looks like I am due for up to 12 inches more.

I have the Snowplow battery on the charge and the rain gauge on once again.

Gosh Sam, I have had only 18 inches of snow this year so I am not too unhappy about the approaching storm.  We are 6 inches below normal so the 6-13 inches forecast (Accuweather) for here are welcome (by me anyhow)! Dancing

This brings to mind a variation on a famous Johnny Cash Song.

Your getting  close to what is our normal snow fall for the snowseason Sam.  So far this year  got 8.5 inches and that was all in november 2009. This year snowfall is an big fat zero. Looks like nasty fire season coming if it don't rain everyday.

John, I am sorry I stole some of your snow.  I will be glad to let you have it back.  Just stop-by any time and grab as much as you want.  No Charge.

I am curious if you get this type of snow each year, where the heck do you put it after shoveling the driveway or road?

I got an 15 foot drop off running along the drive way  so it becomes my catch basin....   only real prolem comes is the berm along the road. The stat plows on clean up after an storm  wil  push some of the build up off.  One neighbor  does come along with his Caat and knock the berms down for people in his neighborhood. Big problem is in the city  since they can no longer dump snow in the channel is where to  remove and hold it.

The beginning of round 2 for us in PA has begun. Looks like were are about to be dumped on according to the forecasters. We are expected to get 12 to 18 or more. Not good. But they did cancel work for me for tomorrow (wednesday) so that's not too bad I suppose. I feel my back starting to hurt already. LOL

Send a little down south in Va  Laughing   all we have is wind and rain  Mad
I don't think either will be a problem for the area which is a good thing!
The high wind warning issued for my area has got the NWS all shook up rating the severity as severe. Last winter storm warning was considered moderate...seems since it caused some problems it would have gotten the severe rating.

Good luck with the snow!  Hopefully it won't cause a lot of troubles!

Sure is different! Normally the "snow belt" folks are getting just that... snow..this year it may be different! We have had far more snow here this year than we have the past several years. And for some reason I think we are getting way more wind that we used to get. I haven't done the research to back that yet but it sure just seems that way. The last few snows that nothern and western Va have gotten we either received rain here or freezing drizzle as was the case last friday. Five miles up the road they had all snow, here we had just enough freezing precip to break eveidently the last tree standing and have it fall across the power lines Laughing  Someone remarked yesterday "surely they can't be too many trees left to fall"  I kinda chuckled at that thinking there have been a bunch fall but there's probably plenty more..maybe just not close power line right of ways now Very Happy

Hey Sam,

Looking at your webcam, the streets look white again.  Why is that?   Rolling Eyes

How much did you get this time?

6 inches this time.  Wind was blowing well up here.  It's drifted across the driveway.  I told the wife to just drive thru it.  No use to dig it out, if the wind is putting it back.

I had to make an emergency trip 40 miles south of me today.  My mom fell and broke her arm.  It's ironic how about this time last year, my grandfather fell and broke his leg.  I am not sure which is going to happen first:  Either I run out of family members to break bones, or we run out of snow storms.

I am looking at the long range forecast and it appears they are calling for more snow on Monday of next week.

Oh by the way I am going to be updating my "profile joke" to reflect how much snow I have had so far this winter.  So now we are up to 64 inches.

Sorry to hear about your mom Sam.

I pretty much gave up on the snow today. I turned out to be a losing battle. I did a fine job before noon plowing the driveway & shoveling the walk. I thought I'd get ahead of it, boy was I wrong. We have blizzard conditions going on since 2pm. Roads shut down all over my area. I now have a 4 1/2 foot drift right out my back door, my driveway is up to 3 feet in spots and the plow truck has not been seen since early this morning. Looks like I'm not going to make it to work tomorrow.

I too am sorry to hear about your Mom Sam.

The way the snow keeps coming you'll need a second yardstick to tape to the first one to continue your measurements! Razz

Here in NW Ohio, we had 10+ inches from this storm.  We had been 6 inches below normal up to this storm.  Now we are on the plus side.  It will be interesting to see if this was the start of a trend, or, a fluke. Think

and yes the rain gauge heater is working.

Ah, winter is finally here, looking for some snow in the morning.  I will be turning on the ole' rain gauge heater tonight before I go to bed.

Awesome I love days like this when it is too cold to do anything outside, yet the weather is just interesting enough to keep my attention and give me an excuse to be on the computer all day.
