Hi Forum.. Hope all is well
I need your help in solving the issue that I am having with VWS.. Periodically, I have to end the program and restart it again because all readings freeze up.. (the temp, rel humidity.. everything...)
using Vista... v14.00 p 103
Let me know if you need any additional info..

what weather station type?
one thing, make sure to run it as administrator

Thanks GBW for your suggestion.. ok.. set to run as administer....

Now that I look into it more closely  Brick wall

I see that the connection between the console and the computer..stops.....

I close the program and restart it again.. Works fine for a bit and then the same thing happens.. Connection is lost

Could it be...... Brick wall The cord that I m using is from Radio Shack ---Gigaware  serial # 26-949.

Can anyone suggest a cord that is more stable?

Frankly  I m not really into buying a new cord... I have my fingers that running the program as administrator solves the problem.. I ll find out soon enough..LOL..

also , if using a USB to serial adaptor, make sure windows is not set to power down the USB to save power

I moved the USB to another port... and as a fail safe I purchased another cable following another members suggestion (Startech
( http://www.startech.com/item/ICUSB232-USB-to-RS-232-Serial-DB9-Adapter.aspx )-  

So either way.. I hope to get this resolved...


Any suggestions are always welcomed and appreciated...
