Well, A few weeks ago, my OS temp/humidity unit starting reporting low humidities so I ordered a THGN123N Ultra Cold Temperature and Humidity Sensor. Not even a week out of the box and it's reporting low humidities compared to stations close by (airports and pws). Has anyone else seen this with their units and recommend a replacement? Please no Davis remarks here, I can't afford one yet...  Jim |

I feel like I have gotten into Mr. Peabody's and Shermans Wayback machine and gone back in time. I had the same problems with my OS sensors. It is a tedious pain in the rear to say the least!   Good Luck! |

Please no Davis remarks here, I can't afford one yet... Jim I donno. I have a thgr122n and it does just fine (much better than the thgr968). I think the 123 is the cold weather version of the 122? Can you return it for an exchange? How low is it reading? Is it all day/night or just in the day or just in the night? |

better at night. It 's about 12% vs. 35% for those around me...trying to get a return going...

Try the THGR268, its been the best replacement for me for accuracy and range, little better than the 122NX.

Just got done emailing Ed@ambient and and he said send the bad unit back. I had a 268 several years ago and yes, it was the best. I am going to get that if possible...

I tested my 123n, but never put in in rotation. Still have a "new" shack one outside right now on my OS. Was going to rotate the 123 in if my DP started failing (non -10) related on cwop. I guess I will have to eyeball every once in a while since my vp2 is doing the cwop data now.
The problem with the 123 is that there is no lcd display... so you cant put it on a table with 2 or 3 268's to see how they match up.

UPDATE:
Just got my RMA return # from Ambient. At the same time I just ordered the 268 unit..
Funny thing is, this morning my dysfunctional 123N froze at 30.6 degs for about 2 hrs. It JUST kicked back in at 36.4 degs. Now it seems the temperature side is going south also... Don't know if there is something else (RF) causing my problems....
