Is this an international type problem only or is everyone effected? My uploads to PWSweather/HAMweather have been unsuccessful for a day now.

PWSweather.com suffered a major failure last night. The host is working on restoring the system as soon as possible.

It seems many people are having problems with PWS on the WUHU mailing list. I guess the site is down for a while.

Thanks Joe. I wasn't sure if it was a problem at this end I should be addressing or not. Hope it's not too serious. Dan

The site been acting up for couple days. There where gaps in my data that did not show on the other sites I send to. Hope nothing is lost in the failure.

Between backups and the RAID arrays data is kept on, it does not appear any data was lost and is being restored at this time. Given the nature of the failure and how it must be restored the system will have to remain down during the restoration process. Considering how much data has been accumulated it could take a couple days. For a while I've been planning to set up further backup and redundancy. So while deep in the system I'll be instituting those changes. So we'll be back. We haven't been doing this for over nine years to stop now.

PWSweather.com systems are starting to come back on-line. Data from personal weather stations is being received and retransmitted to WeatherForYou.com and other destinations (NOAA, Anything Weather, regional weather networks, etc.). We're still working on a few changes in the latest version of php which is causing errors to be displayed and fully restoring database, graph and map updating.

Maybe if you'd file a support request at http://www.pwsweather.com/support.php "he" can look into it. Probably a lot more effective than posting sarcastic comments here. Statements like that and others I received make me wonder why I try. The logins work as far as I know and the ones I've tested. But with the upgrade to php 5.3.1 there may be a few bugs affecting some logins. If you file a support request I'll look into them.

Depending on when you sent it you may not have received the information. E-mail was one of the last functions restored. Some e-mail functionality wasn't back until about 15 minutes ago. Support e-mail has been working since last night, though, and I've already responded to the only support inquiry received about a login not working.

Looks like PWSWeather is back up again today as my weather reports are now being indicated again on HamWeather, WeatherForYou, and on AnythingWeather.

For the record, I can log in and see both of my stations fine. Yeah, it seems to be hit and miss. They changed a few things when php 5.3 came out which were totally not compatible with php 5.2 and before. We corrected the most obvious ones within a couple hours of the system being back up. But I figured there would be some that wouldn't come out until others started testing (that's the way it always is with computers ). At this point I recommend you do NOT attempt to change your password, especially if your data is coming in and being posted. Until we know exactly what's causing this it may make your data stop posting, even if you change the password in your software. My goal is to get things back to the way it was before Monday morning. I'll post here when control panel login is restored. And I'll reply to any support requests that are submitted when it's fixed.
