We are getting  some very high barometer reading here pass couple days . Today we been setting records on the computerize logging. They may have to close  the airports down here for nigth ops as once it hits 31.00 they go to VHF Fligth rules and for commerical aircraft the  5 miles not 1 mile like it is for small aircraft. Ketchikan airport ,18 inches away from doing that. Closes they every came was several years ago when they had 30.98 inches,

I think you meant VFR (Visual Flight Rules) rather than VHF (Very High Frequency). High pressure can become a problem, but there are flight instruments to avoid the problem.

Yeah I did but remember under 10,000 feet the heavy metal guys have to set the altimeter to read the setting. If they can't set the window on altimeter then it no good to them. Several years ago all commerical traffic here in Alska was under VHF rules on landings and it was limited to dayligth hours, In the interior pressure was over 31 inches of mecury.
