I just ordered the 6372 Wireless Temperature Station
I got it at the Ambient low price deal. $146.00

Bobby

I'd like to get a soil moisture/temperature station some day.  Measure soil moisture/temp at a spot on my lawn and also have another temp probe for solar-in-a-jar.  Not for for daytime solar readings, but for night time cloud cover estimates.

So what do you plan to use that temp probe to measure?

Surprised  Ever since Andrew was "turned", I've been dreaming about a Davis almost every day.  And I agree how incredibly accurate the OS 968 is, once it's tweaked.  Too bad about the temp/humidity sensor being so junky, though.

And Sam, hang in there!  This economy will turn around.  It has to...

Got to be careful though.  Some are low end, limited features, built with cheap components, etc. not worth much more if any over the bargain price to start with.

I try and hold out until Jan-Feb on gifts for myself.   Wink

Christmas is happening a bit early here also Applause

I found out...by some sneaky detective work, that my wife and her mother went together and ordered me
a 6250 with WL serial for Christmas.  I had mentioned getting a VP earlier this year but the cash flow problem worsened so I was not expecting that to happen at all.

She had asked what I thought about that station earlier and being a new product all I know is what I read and for the most part it's all good Laughing

SO now I will have a backup if I have a hardware failure. Don't know exactly how the ISS with attached rain collector will work at a height of 20-+ feet but if I can manage to get it level I'll find out!

Times like this I almost wish I still worked utility work!  Being on call and bringing  home a squirt boom would be mighty nice leveling this dude Dancing

I think Davis needs to send all of us a nice "Thank You" for all this "Stimulus". A nice $100 gift certificate would be nice  Dancing

I look at it like this....I waited almost 4 years for the VP2. That works out to about $300 every year  Laughing

I really have to agree with you here!!!
Other than a few little glitches mine has served me well for about 3 years now I believe.

I had thought about having one as a backup but I haven't ruled out having two stations running as I did have for awhile on WU.
I know the OS systems get kind of a bad reputation due to their over all quality but it sure beats the heck out of the other 3 systems I had....
My 968 has weathered some major cold weather and a few scary thunderstorms and one with a TOR earlier this year so I sure wouldn't have wanted to be where it as for the most part  Laughing

When it does go belly up I think I will keep it displayed here in the house just for a reminder of how it all got started for me!
If not for the 968 I may not have found this forum and met up with some of the nicest people in the world Applause Applause

Man do I know what you mean here!!! My main job industry has taken a major plunge so being paid commission I never from one week to the
next what I'll have..no guarantees at all Evil or Very Mad   I don't know how the wife managed to get the funding to order my Davis but evidently she must have sold
a pile of Avon or similar !

Everyone says the economy is just on a down cycle and will rebound most anytime now...I sure hope and pray they are right cause it seems to be getting worse instead of better in lots of places.   As the saying goes..Hang in there Sam..Where there's A Will There's A Way !

Bobby, you're as bad as I am with trackings!  Laughing

Then, when it says "Out For Delivery", I'm like a caged cat! Bad thing here is it goes "Out" at about 7AM and never gets here until 6-8PM...

And don't ya just hate it when it's "Out For Delivery" but doesn't show up until the next day. That happened to me a few months back when I was waiting for a new tool for my workshop to arrive. I waited around all day (I had to sign for it) but it never showed up when promised. I called UPS and they said the driver couldn't find my address!! Turns out they had an old map that didn't have our street on it even though we had been here for over 4 years and the street was put in in 2000. One consolation though, they refunded my >$100 shipping fee due to it being delivered late. That was a real surprise too.
