Hello all,
I have a question about the FTP/ Networking. Is there a way I can turn off the FTP/Internet and still have VWS updated the html and jpg files? I would perfer using my own FTP software to upload the html files and jpeg files. I currently have the HTML upload off, if you go to HTML settings and the portion it tells you to upload to internet, I have no file names. But I still see VWS upload the jpeg files. How can I turn off all uploads and keep VWS updating the html and jpeg files? I really dont trust theh VWS FTP software, thats the only reason plus I can manage my upload times better. All comments / suggestions or questions will be greatly appreciated.

Yes there is a way. Do not set an update schedule in VWS. I use fling to do all my uploading. Under internet: upload file(send): and click on the small calender and select no update.

Sure, Just go to Internet, then Upload Folder (send) and in the Advanced set it to NO Update and it won't FTP.

I've been using Cute for several years and it works just fine although I think the update sent to Wunderground is still sent by the VWS FTP. Several of the guys are using another free program, search and you'll find the name or someone will post it.

Once you turn off VWS FTP functions, you will also notice VWS will become more stable.  I also use Fling and it works great.  In fact my VWS haa run 36+ days before I shut it down for other computer maintainence procedures on my dedicated WX box.
