Turning the Daytime FARS into a 24 Hour FARS?
«
on:

I read in one of the older threads that it was possible to power the daytime FARS with AC to turn it into a 24 hour FARS?
Anyone have any more specific info on that? Perhaps a HOW TO guide?
I have a daytime FARS on my VP2, and have already run AC to the pole for my rain bucket heater, so getting power to the ISS is not an issue.
Thanks in advance!

Sure.
Radio Shack sells a "wall wart" plugin transformer that puts out 3 volts DC. Model 273-023. Buy one.
Run the wire from that to the VP. Disconnect the solar cell, check the polarity (to get the fan to run the correct direction, not that it makes much difference), and connect the wire from the wall wart.
Let us know how it goes.

Cool! Thanks!
I'll call down to our local Radio Shack and see if they have that part in stock.
Cheers.
