Has anyone ever had a problem getting trojans when you go to a Weatherunderground site? Every time I go to the WU site with all the PW's from my area I get a pop up that says a trojan was blocked or removed. Never saw this until today. I get it again if I refreshi the page. The trojan is "JS/exploit-packed.c.gen" Thanks, Mark

It most likely comes from an automated ad service they have on their web page. This happened a few months back with photobucket.com. I recommend that everyone update your virus software before attempting to load their page. Also some antivirus software companies may not have a fix for that virus, so you may have to wait a few days before getting the update to your particular software. Be safe and cautious!

At first I thought it was just that page but now I get it on every page on WU I go to. I did send an e-mail to the support center. I hope it's nothing major. Thank goodness for having McAfee or some other protection. I know a couple people who have NO protection on-line. CRAZY!! I do have my McAfee software set so it automatically updates everyday. I would probably forget to do it everyday if they did not have that. ADD: 3:25pm: I have noticed that the stations on the WU page are not updating like they normally do. One I watch usually updates every one or two seconds. When I was last there it had been 20 minutes. Same for the other stations. Don't know if it would have anything to do with the trojan but I am not up on these things like I should. (getting tired of having a red face! )

Turns out this was a false positive issue with a Dat file (5728) McAfee pushed out yesterday. No problems with Weather Underground! Download the 5729 dat to correct this problem.

I recieved an email from WU this morning and McAfee incorrectly recognized a Javascript compression tool that WU uses, as a trojan .They made adjustments and I no longer am getting the alert. You shouldn't have to do anything to fix this.

Better a false positive, than a true negative.

That is very true. And, where in the world did you find the elephant on the trampoline? Took me a minute for my old eyes to figure out what was happening but when I did it gave me a very much needed laugh Very cool pic!! Thanks much, Mark

Just needed a change of avatar. I am always looking for funny ones. I ran across it while googling for a pic on the "last post thread".
Now if only he would say Wheeeeeeeee!!!, once in a while that would be funny.

You shouldn't have to do anything to fix this. Thanks for clearing up the trojan concern. I'd removed all links to WU & Wundermap. I removed them from my FireFox tabs. All's back to normal now. Thanks.
