Thanks for the link Sam. I have been waiting for that for ages.
Ed did say it would be out this year.

Well, I scanned it, didn't really see much change, I'd hoped for something a bit more comprehensive especially in the rainfall area like a procedure rather than "see sec. 6.21.3" which basically says nothing nor addresses the interaction of the various .bin files etc. I've yet to figure out how or where the file that is uploaded to WU is created/located so I can maybe "cheat" and refer the temp to the ground level sensor rather than the one of the roof as it's usually 7-10 degrees warmer than reality.

As I mentioned in another post, the new VWS User's Manual has problems in the JPEG File Index table. See my post at http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=4712.msg41654#msg41654 for further details. It would be nice for Ed to note the changes but I know that is asking too much of his time to do that. As always, the paperwork is the last thing to be updated...

Great to have!
Too bad page 73 still lists "ALMYTD" & "ALMMTD" as "Almanac normal year-to-date precipitation" & "Almanac normal month-to-date precipitation" when they should simply be "Year-to-date precipitation" & "Month-to-date precipitation"
The actual MTD/YTD value is returned, not the "normal", but most sites using the VWS template label it as "normal precipitation"
