These Woot sites have netbooks today (7/9/09) in case anyone is thinking about one....

New $170
Asus EEEPC900A-WFBB01 8.9", Atom N270, 4G SSD, 1GB DDR2, Linux, 802.11bg
http://shopping.yahoo.com/#woot

Refurb $260
Acer Aspire One D150 Intel Atom 1.6Ghz 1GB 160GB 6 Cell Battery WebCam 10.1” XP Netbook
http://www.woot.com/

For my money (if I had some to spare) the Acer is a better deal with HDD and winXP but some might not like the refurbished machine.

Not really that good a price for a re-furb. I checked WOOT today also, but when price searching for that Acer, new it's only ~$30 more...

Get a Dell dude......I have a Mini 9 and the one thing that some of the really small netbooks have is a cramped keyboard with some of the keys relocated. My Mini(me) does boot up fast with its SSD but the whole netbook series has some limitations that kind of suck and you have to accept. The Dell Mini 12 and Mini 10 have 1gb of soldered in memory and a hard drive....no upgrade slot at all for extra memory or SSD. The Mini 10v allows SSD and 2 gb of memory. The Mini 11 coming out allows room for more customization. One thing that is really neat is that 10v and 12 can have an internal cell modem card and or a GPS ! Another limitation is the video card. Don't expect HD seamless video. Also you will find yourself scrolling alot because the screen is wide and not tall. However, for the convience....I love my Mini. Sometimes I pick up its bag and think I forgot it. Teamed with a Western Digital Passport 500gb usb drive and I have a ultra-lightweight combo. Also I have Ubuntu on a separate SSD and can change O/S's in about 2 minutes.

Netbooks are typically slow, but the Asus is a top-rated one.
More for convenience than "work" related.
Still cool and cute, though.
I like 'em myself, and use a PepperPad too. Cool
