VWS just started trying to upload a file called TMP20.tmp in the root. So I went to the root and it is not there so I searched for it and the computer found nothing on the C drive. What could this file be?

It's just a temp file that VWS uses in creating a jpeg or html file. When I have this problems and it persists. I shutdown VWS, clean out the root folder(s) of all it's "internet uploading" files, Including any hidden files, then restart VWS. It's another one of those FTP bugs in VWS. I recommend that you do not use VWS's ftp functions and use a free program like Fling. Check out this thread for more info: http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=4639.0

I've used VWS FTP file uploading since December of 2005 and rarely have any problems with the standard files VWS creates for uploads. True, it is a bit slower than other FTP stand-alone programs but it gets the job done for me. I do use Fling to upload all of my webcam image files and some other miscellaneous non-VWS related files. Fling works flawlessly in the background.

No issues with my uploads either. I've been o.k., but perhaps that's just because my weather station is on a simple, dedicated, stand-alone PC? Nothing else running in the background...only VWS is "on". Resources are dedicated to the software only....so nothing interferes. Perhaps? Henry

I only had that issue once with fling, totally unrelated to vws. I dropped a php or htm file into my site upload folder by accident. I deleted it using file manager. Then on the next update (cant recall if that folder was an "upon change" upload or timed, I am thinking timed.... anyway fling kept erroring out trying to upload the file I had deleted. Was pretty strange. I closed fling, then restarted and all was well. Pretty sure that only happened the one time. Andrew I am using Fling it just out of the blue started trying to upload the file.
