What does WZ mean for NWR Call Signs

I Wanted to ask this because Almost all Stations have normal set call sign letters and only a sum of ones have WZ and 4 numbers.I Wanna know what WZ means and why only a small sum have WZ in their call signs.

WZ2515 in Grand Marais MI, WZ2514 in Munising MI, WZ2531 in Hialeah FL, WZ5213 in Copper Harbor MI

It doesn't really mean anything except in the FCC's assignment scheme.

Even "WX" doesn't have a particular meaning in callsigns. 

A ham radio operator with the right qualifications can request a callsign with a WX or WZ prefix.

I believe those are related to water areas that are not associated to specific counties/cities..(i.e. rivers, lakes, bays,.etc...)

Oh, I Thought that was some Special Prefix for marine which is what i'm guess it really is.

also idk why the NWS changed KIG63 in Cannonsburg, MI to WZ2560 but on the broadcast it's still says KIG 63?
