Wx Radio Station history

Is there any way to find out the history of specific NWR transmitters? I know the WWG-xxx transmitters were put up in the late 70s/early 80s, for most of the eastern section of Kentucky has transmitters with the WWG identification.

Not sure exactly what history you're looking for, but perhaps the FCC may help.
