For the past 2 days now I have been having problems with my rain. On both of these days it hasnt rained at all. The unit is secure and in a good spot where the wind cant move it around. Yesterday it showed .13 when it should be zero. Today it is showing .17 which should be 0. Its not showing up on the main unit so its in the software. On the software its not showing up on my rain graph but showing up on the main section on the program that shows the current stats. Its just bugging me because its making my monthly totals on wunderground way off. Any fix to this?

ps also look at my dew point this is another problem that happens once in awhile.

plus what would it matter what i have. like i said its not in the main unit. its in the software. its only showing in the virtual weather station. but not showing in the graph. if it happens tomorrow (3rd day in a row) i will reset the main unit to the default settings and reconnect the usb cord. if i still have problems i will uninstall everything and re install it.

ps. is it better to have the pxx on what the main website is showing or is it better to have the newest beta one. usually im not a beta fan but ed says otherwise.

also on my virtual weather station when it starts up there is a box to check to clear archive data. should i have that checked?

Do you run wireless or with cable?

there may be some interference if you run wireless.

but how can that do anything when its virtual weather station. yet again its showing on it and wunderground is seeing it but it didnt graph it like it usually does when it really happens. so the problem is on virtual weather station where internet doesnt come into play

oh yes. the station with its components are all wireless. but wouldnt this always happen then? this has happened 2 days in a row but i have had this since oct. and hasn't happened before. my parents who have this station have the same problem once in awhile. its just annoying because im big on monthly totals and years comparing them and saving them

Maybe you should consider participating in CocoRaHS.  You purchace an approved tube type rain gauge and report that every day.  Also, it is an excellent way (IMNSHO) to check the accuracy of your OS rain gauge.

Good luck,

How close is your console to your PC?

its right under my flat screen monitor. its not the main unit. how virtual weather station works is It calculates the hourly rain by subtracting the rain one hour ago from the current rain. On my total rain at midnight it goes up .17 every night for some reason.

My parents have the same weather station and same setup its doing it to theirs too. but there is 1.74"

When I used a WMR100 I would sometimes get rainfall inidication on the Wunderground totals when there was no rainfall. VWS and WMR100 console would correctly show no rainfall. I away believed it was a problem with Wunderground but since replacing my WMR 100 with a Davis I don't remember seeing this problem again.

Is this the same problem? It looks to me to be the same as if look through the table of data there is no rainfall at any time yet the daily total shows some rain.

Do the totals on Wunderground, VWS and the WMR200 console all show the same rainfall.

If its that close to the screen it might be inducing spurious data spikes in the usb conection.

By the way, I do know how VWS works since we sell it!

What you might be seeing are rounding errors since your weather station actually measures in metric not imperial and this metric conversion has to be converted somewhere along the line to give you a reading in inches. (We sell Oregon stations too!)
