Newbie here... How does one remove the moon phase objects from the main display? Modify Display / Moon Phase has them selected, but grayed out.

Basically Moon Phase has only that one option to turn it on, in that menu.  To "turn it off", with it already on your desktop then "right click" on the Moon Display and click on "discard panel" and it will ask you if you wish to remove it form the VWS Desktop.  Click "yes"

If you are talking about the "Moon Phase" in the broadcast.jpg, then you are out of luck, and can not be removed.  Because of this, I recommend that you enter your time, Lat/Long, and altitude into VWS as accurately as possible.  That way the moon phase, moonset, and sunset times are accurate for your area.  It is better to show the info accurately even if you don't want it there VERSUS showing inaccurate data that you can't remove anyways.

I hope all this makes sense and welcome aboard.   Smile Applause

Something I have noticed is that the actual moon/sun rise and set times are not accurate at my location. I am at 4800ft and suspect that the calculations are for sea-level and don't take into account local mountains and terrain. My rise/set times are always as much as 15-20 minutes later than actual.

These  rise /set times are for if you didn't have anything in the way of your horizon.  It is for when the sun/moon comes up 90 degrees to you. Some programs take into account  your altitude/etc and you can program into them  any terrain around you like some of  my astronmony programs do. But this   in VWS is just a cut and dried version. If you have your  lat/lon in there rigth it is what it says for your time zone. So any big error is  from some bad data also make sure you are  off greenwich hour properly.

Thanks for the info. I am not sure why I didn't try right-clicking... or why I was up at 4am this morning playing with VWS. A great feature addition would be for built in templates for the main display screen or at least a way to reset to a default.
