My elevation is about 3500ft....  this is the warning for that elevation and sorta my area(see other warning also since i live right on the border of these counties... I always get more snow than the flathead valley forecast.. i usually get the Kila forecast of snow.. But then i get the high winds that the valley sees lol.  5-10 isnt a lot of snow but just enough to make  it  a  little messy lol=P and enough to fill in the potholes..=D

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 2 PM this
afternoon to 5 am MST Thursday...

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 2 PM this afternoon
to 5 am MST Thursday.

Snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches are possible... mainly north
of the Highway 2 corridor... by Thursday morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
blowing snow... or freezing rain are expected or occurring. Strong
winds and dangerous wind chills are also possible. This will
make travel very hazardous or impossible.









Flathead Valley---

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 2 PM this
afternoon to 5 am MST Thursday...

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 2 PM this afternoon
to 5 am MST Thursday.

Snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches in the northern Flathead
Valley... and 6 to 12 inches for the Glacier park region... are
anticipated by Thursday morning. In addition to snow... locally
strong east winds along the Highway 2 corridor will create areas
of blowing snow and reduced visibilities.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...

Statement as of 2:45 PM MST on February 25, 2009

... Winter Storm Warning now in effect until 5 PM MST Thursday...

The Winter Storm Warning is now in effect until 5 PM MST
Thursday.

Snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches in the Flathead and mission
valleys... and 8 to 14 inches for the Glacier park region... are
anticipated by Thursday afternoon. In addition to snow... locally
strong east winds gusting to 40 mph along the Highway 2 corridor
will create areas of blowing snow and reduced visibilities. This
will also produce below zero wind chills.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow and blowing
snow are expected or occurring. Strong winds and dangerous wind
chills are also possible. This will make travel very hazardous or
impossible.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM MST

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM MST
FRIDAY.

BRISK NORTHEAST TO EAST WINDS 10 TO 25 MPH WILL KEEP WIND CHILLS
AS LOW AS 30 BELOW TODAY AND THIS EVENING. SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS
TODAY WILL BRING UP TO AN INCH OF ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATION. THE
NORTHEAST TO EAST WINDS WILL PRODUCE AREAS OF BLOWING AND
DRIFTING SNOW IN OPEN AREAS OR EXPOSED AREAS. THIS WINDS WILL
DIMINISH AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT.

BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE
PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE
CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.

WIND CHILLS OF 20 TO 30 BELOW CAN CAUSE FROSTBITE WITHIN 30
MINUTES AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.

roads are big mess today, got about 6inches of snow on top of  really icy roads... makes for a mess. Atleast after they plow all the  packed snow off the road making you drive on a sheet of ice(shoulda left some snow for traction). O well i'll try and get some pics!
